Robert
A. Schaefer, Jr. began his career as a fine art photographer in Munich,
Germany in the middle 1970’s while he was getting his MA at the
Technische Universitaet there. In 1981 he moved to New York City where
he continues to live and work as a photographer as well as teach
various aspects of photography at New York University and Pratt
Institute. He uses 19th Century processes (cyanotype, platinum,
palladium) to print his multi-layered cityscapes and portraits.
