Jean James

My work concerns light, color, and design and the influence of these elements on human emotions and understanding. Many of my images, semi-abstract, or abstract have a sense of expectancy, a sense of the surreal. In an overwhelmingly technical and faceless world the response I hope for is emotional and soulful. To this end I am a painter in oil because of the richness and depth of tone one can achieve.
