What I’m interested in are moments. Moments in lives that reflect a feeling and capture an interaction (between two people; between a woman and a cigarette; a man and the light; a train and the sky). I shoot cityscapes and landscapes because I feel that they too have independent lives and, in turn, an equal emotional capacity. I like gesture because it conveys what lies just beneath the surface.

I’m from a long line of storytellers and through my pictures, I am attempting to carry on that tradition. I am telling these stories and they are simultaneously telling themselves. To me, this work is work of self-preservation because it’s about my life. Most of the people in my work are people I love; my friends and family, and for a moment my sky, my waves and my airplane. I am particularly interested in taking pictures at night because to me, that’s when the edges are softest and the colors deepest.
