I do not use power tools, a direct approach allows me to establish a personal touch with the stone. Direct interaction has given me an understanding of the importance of the tactile aspect of sculpture. Touching lays bare the inadequacy of looking, revealing the intense physicality of being through a broader sensual experience. Touching is such an integral part of the works creation, such an important part of my own understanding of it that I encourage others to experience it also.
