Ioanna Voskou

 

 

 

After graduating with honors from the School of Arts in Athens, Ioanna Voskou has participated in several individual and group exhibitions both in Cyprus and abroad.

As an artist, she was first concerned with the presence and absence of human existence and the role materialism plays with regard to feelings; however, as she continued to explore these themes, Voskou moved on to another level of expression and creativity, turning to the camera for inspiration.  She is fascinated by the idea of memory and “keeping moments alive” but also by the idea that before and after the moment is captured, everything changes. Thus, through her paintings the viewer encounters an ever-moving reality in which only the images captured stay behind.
