    My
name is Muriel Vaughn. I am Afro and Native American. I am originally
from Los Angeles, California, but now, reside in Phoenix, Arizona. I am
a Quality Assurance Auditor for a customized plastic manufacturing
company. However, my goal is to be a self-employed artist. From as far
back as I can remember; I have had the ability to create. When I was a
teenager I wanted to be a Fashion Illustrator, but I was side tracked
by the electronic technology era and ventured off in another direction.
I worked as a Quality Engineer for an Aerospace company for several
years and after being laid off from that position; it was then that I
decide to go back to school for Advertising Design. I took all the Fine
Art classes available during that time. I thought that my artwork was
good before I started those classes, but I was quickly humbled.  Those
classes helped strengthen my artistic ability. Most of my art is
created as a result of my mood and emotions. I create with oil, pen
& ink, color prism, watercolor, acrylics, pencil, charcoal and some
computer applications. My style varies from abstract to realism.

    I
have participated in the PAN African Film and Art Festival, When We
Were Children exhibit, local art exhibits and festivals, and had an
artist page in the Guild Source Book, but I am still working on my
    self-employed goal.
