To me, painting is a language which expresses something beyond words, a
language of simple, strong and symbolic signs, such as those which form
"La loi du plus fort" ("Might is right"). Thus, my paintings are
emotional portraits of the world, composed of signs that touch us and
impose themselves beyond reason. Ottavio Paz wrote: "I walk in the dark
and I plant signs". Planting signs which affect us and speak to our
emotions: this is the role of art and of the artist.
