Film is the mirror in which the world sees itself. Although the history of film is a little over a century old, visual story telling is as old as mankind. From cave drawings to the beautiful paintings of the Renaissance, to a stunning film, the importance of visual story is invaluable.

Film to me is watching a painting in motion. There is a strong relationship between painting and film, from the composition of a scene to the color theory involved with visual imagery. The fact is that they serve as a lens, and a doorway into a world that is a re-presentation of the real. For the past two years my work has explored the discourse between painting and film, using a face or in some cases the absence of a face as a vehicle to explore these connections.
