As a little girl, Jody Bergsma had nightmares. Her mother comforted her by telling her that if she painted them, they would no longer scare her. Her childish monsters, dragons and wide-eyed children, set the stage for her future work. Her paintings often had their origins in her dreams. Bergsma was painting professionally by the time she was 15 and sold hundreds of pictures in her teenage years. In college, she wavered between engineering and pursuing her artwork but soon dropped out of school to concentrate on her paintings. Her work is all done in rich, vibrant flowing watercolor. She is based out of Bellingham, WA.
