Trained in both painting and sculpture, I have found that only the
field of photography allows me to create images to the fullest extent
of expression possible by using each fields’ most expressive elements
and avoiding each ones’ limitations. We are bombarded with thousands of
images each day. Each one has a different agenda. All are intended to
affect, manipulate, persuade, or inform us. Studies show it takes seven
seconds for the eye and mind to process an image and to determine
whether to discard, retain, or pursue it. With little time for
filtering in our increasingly fast-paced environments; helplessly, we
are forced to ingest each one. To create open places to rest one’s eyes
without the crush of concept, I strive to push the boundaries of
abstract photography away from flat ambiguity by weaving together
    texture, depth, and motion.
