N.C. Winters likes to draw pictures. He’s a little crazy about things like detail, detail, and more detail. He doesn’t seem to have the function most others have that censors ideas, so the rest of the world is left to figure out what the hell is wrong with him through these jumbled details that pervade every piece. Luckily, he creates some pretty cool art from that schizoid action. N.C. works mostly in ink, be it wonderfully expensive crow-quill nibs or the good old ballpoint pen-a habit that he surely picked up from drawing in class more than taking notes. When the spirit grabs him, he pulls out the watercolor, colored pencils, and the occasional acrylic or oil paint. Figures dominate N.C.’s work, and his obsession with both anatomy and the weirdness in people has created some of his best characters. While N.C. loves to have someone sit and stare at his pieces forever in a gallery (look Ma, I found a monkey in this corner!), his illustration has also graced CD covers, t-shirts, posters, cards, and websites. When he’s not working, he’s got this weird thing about squirrels-"it can’t be explained, so don’t ask!"
