Ian Rogers work focuses on living within a
non-traditional, self-actualized and altered form. Thesepresentations
of body range from highly realistic to whimsical (yet horrific) forms
and characters. Everything is held together with what society would
deem as dark, bizarre and slightly twisted. He
often presents sections of the ideal male body, as strong and agile,
but leaves the traditional definition of man in a state of questionable
existence. Does the form suggest male? Is the body lying about its true
nature? Is the invisible present by the fact that the body suggests
that it is? Is the viewer not seeing the correct presentation of what
the form recognizes as self?
