Irene Neal
Irene Neal’s sculptural-paintings are the expression of a jouissance and love of painting and life. Her mastery of the technique of mixing and pouring acrylic gels gives her flexibility and control in the process of creating, but it is her unique curiosity for the spontaneous that is the magic. Her work has been classified as abstract expressionism, but in welcoming the dynamic play of color and light, movement and shape, Neal’s practice exceeds this formal definition. "Beauty is on its way…", the first line of a poem by Neal’s mother, expresses the joy that guides and reflects Neal’s sensibility and practice at its core.Irene Neal is exhibiting in China this month and next, and she is showing work with A.N.E.W. Foundation For the Arts (www.anew.org) in Art Miami/Basel December 6-9.
