A Canadian artist, Gordon Milne is a painter and colorist. In a
long-term project Milne has been commissioned by the Canadian Sport
Centre to produce a series of portraits of past and present Canadian
Olympic athletes. Milne is also completing a series of portraits of
dancers with the Alberta Ballet as well as several commissioned pieces.Milne’s paintings have been described as an intricate
arrangement of shapes and colors which subtly invite the viewer to
identify the subject’s personality based on optical cues. These
monumental portraits are Milne’s biggest accomplishment and his
trademark today.
