    Drdak’s work concerns the
reinterpretation of archaic imagery, western and eastern, focusing on
the Sacrificial. Contrasting severity and sensuality within aniconic
and biomorphic form, her work explores the psychological anxieties
driving the sacrificial impulse as experienced in the collective
psyche. Large dynamic works with highly polished black surfaces, a
severely restricted chromatic palette of reds, blacks, ivories, and
selective usage of crushed mineral and metal particles result in an
    imagery both atavistic and sublime.
