Olivia Gagne

The work deals with the reclamation process that nature undertakes within neglected areas of our environment.  It is the moment when the geometry of human-made products meets the unyielding tangles of nature that is recreated within the studio. The shadows that are created by the constructions imply further degradation,  that both the fecundity of nature, and creations of humankind will turn to dust. Conversely, the shadows imply that with the destruction there is also the promise of renewal, they serve as a whisper of a world yet to be. Olivia Gagne is a recent graduate of Pratt Institute where she received a BFA in Painting. She is now living and working in Brooklyn.
