My mixed media plywood wall relief’s are inspired by the elements of
nature and the radical transformation of the landscape. I deconstruct
the wood panels to reveal the interior, juxtaposing them with the
painted surface and epidermal layers. The surface grains are revealed
when illuminated from various angles or by different light sources.
This causes the entire look of the work to change during the course of
a day. Michael Giancristiano exhibits his work internationally. He has won numerous awards and is included in many important collections.
