Through my paintings, I show the Andalusian countryside, as this is what my eyes (and my heart) are full of. The layers, the transparency, and structures inside the forms drive me forward, painting the light and the darkness, and the intensity of the color. Hues are intentionally pushed completely to their limit, where they get to a perceptual breaking point. It feels like I should have to hold my breath so that it should not happen, but it happens. The colors explode. Then comes the storm, followed by a deep silence, long shadows, melancholy, and maybe, a quest for mercy.
