The Watching tries to depict a crack between two layers of reality. In the first, nature has recaptured most of what is made by humankind. In the second layer civilization is dominating and action is only imposed after a process of deliberation and cognition. The woman in the foreground is ruptured by the crack of the two layers. This is visualized by her right arm dissolving into the first layer. The interaction between the two layers is limited. On the right corner some monkeys leap onto the other side. But making it to the other side changes them and they turn into a surreal element.
